Professional Celebrants Offer Remarkable Rituals For Times of Change
Professional Celebrants are independent ceremony specialists who have been immersed in the history of rituals and traditions from around the world as well as the choreography, creation and management of ceremonies. Celebrants work directly with clients to create customized events that address their needs, integrating such elements as poetry, wishboxes, musical instruments, candy and even tree-plantings.
There are over 4,000 Celebrants worldwide. The US presence is a new chapter in a 30-year old worldwide phenomenon that began in Australia and spread to Great Britain, New Zealand and Canada. The Celebrant USA Foundation opened its doors in June 2001. The very first ceremonies conducted by American Celebrants were for families who lost loved ones in the September 11 attacks. Since then, Celebrants have conducted ceremonies for corporate downsizings, retirements, infertility, coming of age, memorials and terminal illness, as well as baby namings, house blessings, weddings and vow renewals.
